The Baltic Sea Region in INTERREG

The Baltic Sea Region (BSR) is one of the transnational cooperation areas of the European Transnational Cooperation called INTERREG. Since 1990, INTERREG aims to enhance cooperation among local, regional and national stakeholders within the different EU member states and partner countries, including but not limited to public authorities, research bodies, NGO’s and enterprises. The 4 priority areas of the BSR are capacity for innovation, efficient management of natural resources, sustainable transport, and EU strategy support. In the current 5th programming period, the INTERREG BSR funds Co2mmunity as well as 72 other projects, bringing together more than 1000 partners.
